Kelley Blue Book's top ten family cars ... and no Euros!

If safe, roomy and affordable are the characteristics that qualify a vehicle as a family car, then the American family has never had so many choices. One would think that with all of these choices, one car out of the Top Ten ... would include a nameplate manufactured by at least one from Europe, but with a tradition of building small, under-powered cars, Euros need not apply.

The Top 10 Family Cars for 2010 (VIDEO) today were named by the expert editors from Kelley Blue Book, www.kbb.com, the leading provider of new car and used car information. In the list, the kbb.com editors recommend what they feel are the very best of the best vehicles for families this year, highlighting specific important attributes for each car and detailing why it made the Top 10 for 2010.

The manufacturers hail from Korea, United States, and Japan with the majority (6 of 10) of the Family cars have their design from American companies with three sporting a Ford nameplate.

For PROP. 8, Judge believes image means nothing

For PROP. 8, Judge believes image means nothing

In the world of images and logos, a lot is made to impart the exact impression and nature of an effort or business enterprise through branding. The biggest area where branding gives its first impression comes from corporate colors and the graphic elements that are associated with the effort or business enterprise ... the logo.

XEROX Corporation comes to mind when one thinks of how important it becomes to protect an effort's graphic intellectual property. XEROX did not want the general public to grasp on to, and water down the meaning of their name when one referred to a photo-copy as a "XEROX" just as Kleenex did not want to have everyone refer to a paper wipe by their trade name, Kleenex. XEROX was mostly successful in their efforts through protecting the word XEROX in courts through lawsuits when the company saw the word used in a generic nature thereby watering down the definition and impact of the word, XEROX.

The same sensibility should govern cultural and political messages delivered through graphic intellectual property as well. A lawsuit has been brought upon The Courage Campaign Institute for using the graphic elements of the logo used by The Proposition 8 coalition.

A Judge in the California District Court did not believe the value of the graphic image and the identification brought through a logo graphic was worth defending on behalf of the effort to protect traditional marriage.

Prop. 8 backers sue foes over logo
By Denny Walsh - The Sacramento Bee - Published: Friday, Jan. 22, 2010 - 10:57 am

The opposing forces in California's war over gay marriage have found something else to squabble about: the gay-marriage camp's mockery of the traditional-marriage camp's logo.

The squabble is playing out in Sacramento in the courtroom of U.S. District Judge Lawrence K. Karlton.

A stylized silhouette of a man and a woman and a boy and a girl, all with raised arms beneath a banner reading, "Yes On 8 Protect Marriage," is the logo of Proposition 8, the 2008 ballot initiative amending the state constitution to declare that marriage is only between a man and a woman.

Since the campaign on behalf of Proposition 8 began using the logo on Jan. 31, 2008, it has employed it in a number of ways, most recently on its Web site.

The Courage Campaign Institute began using an almost-identical logo – the adult figures both are wearing dresses and the banner reads "Prop 8 Trial Tracker" – last week on a Web site it launched for updates and commentary on the San Francisco trial of a federal constitutional challenge to the amendment.

The Proposition 8 coalition is defending the amendment in court because the state would not.

Soon after the Trial Tracker logo showed up, the Proposition 8 promoters cried foul.

The Courage Campaign argues the slightly altered logo is funny, a parody that is cloaked in free-speech protection.
----
ProtectMarriage.com – Yes on 8, a Project of California Renewal sued Tuesday in Sacramento federal court.

The lawsuit alleges that the defendants – nonprofit groups that support gay and lesbian marriage – have misappropriated the plaintiff's trademark in a way that is likely to confuse the public, and they "have never utilized the infringing logo in any way that would result in humor, a … requirement for a parody."

The plaintiff claims to have spent "a considerable amount of money in establishing the ProtectMarriage Trademark in the minds of customers as a source of conservative views and traditional family values."
----
Karlton sided with the defendants Wednesday in a nine-page order denying the plaintiff's motion for a temporary restraining order halting the use of the logo on prop8trialtracker.com.

The judge ruled that Courage Campaign's "use of the mark is protected under the First Amendment, in that the use is relevant to an expressive parody and … is not explicitly misleading."

"Any potential for confusion or misdirection is obviated by the images and text that uniformly accompany defendant's use of the mark, namely, photos of homosexual couples together with text explicitly endorsing homosexual marriage," said Karlton.

In California ... a vote that has expressed the democratic will of the people by nearly 70% and intellectual property are under assault along with the ability for people to grow food and keep jobs (irrigation water ordered to be turned off in the fields of the Sacramento Valley in order to protect a non-indigenous fish, the Delta Smelt) ... nothing is sacred, except, of course, the decisions of a single politically "progressive" Judge or the wishes of small, but politically "progressive" special interest groups.

Tea Party Nation: Of Palin, Progressives, New Deal, and party politics

Tea Party Nation: Of Palin, Progressives, New Deal, and party politics

Talking heads and news cast pundits are unanimous ... the Tea Party Movement needs, or has a leader in the visage of former Alaska State Governor, Sara Palin after her rather pointed keynote speech she delivered at the first, official convention put on by the Tea Party Nation organization (one of many grassroots organizations that have sprung up after seeing people gather in protest to this current Government's "progressive" expansion and spending agenda).

The truth about this Tea Party Movement is that it does not need a leader to follow, just a recognition of what many term American constitutional principles and American Culture. What has most people upset with our current political landscape is the direction embraced by politicians from both political parties. Simply stated, a progressive STATE-IST solution to all governance ... there is a governmental solution to all perceived problems in our society, culture, and process that effect our lives.

The problem with this view is that it does not match up with what is stated in the document that is the keel-board upon which our country was founded ... the United States Constitution.

We have had many attempts to turn this country into a fascist, socialist, "PROGRESSIVE" paradise starting at the turn of the last century, reaching major strength through the Herbert Hoover' 31st Presidency, through the Franklin Delano Roosevelt five terms as President (and the main reason why the elected office of President has been term limited to just two terms), and now with a one-party Democrat Congress (House of Representatives & Senate) and 44th Presidency of the politically radical Democrat Party Obama Administration.

Democrats, however, are not the only politicians who can lay claim to a progressive agenda, many recognized Republican Party standouts are very "Big, Bigger, Biggest Government" state-ist as well. Chief among them are George H.W. Bush, the 41st President, Geoprge W. Bush, the 43rd President, Colin Powell, former military Chief of Staff and one-time presidential hopeful, Charlie Crist, former Governor of Florida and Senate seat hopeful, the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Bloomberg, Mayor of New York City, William Weld, former Governor of Massachusetts, and the jury is out on the politician and successful business mogul who replaced Weld as Governor and 2008 presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, and current United States Senators, John McCain (his progressive stand cost him the 2008 presidency), Lindsey Graham, Olympia Snowe, and Susan Collins.

The Tea Party Movement is not Republican, Democrat, or Independent registered voter driven or, for that matter, owned. That really is the issue here, the Tea Party Movement is about washing out Progressive politics and re-establishing a Constitutional Government that is smaller and attempts to be responsive -- to, for, and by the voting citizen!

Sarah Palin seemed very much in her element addressing the crowd of 1,100 conservative activists, who had each paid several hundred dollars to see the former governor deliver her most-anticipated speech since the 2008 campaign. Image Credit: Edmund Jenks from C-SPAN broadcast (2010)

Palin: 'America Is Ready for Another Revolution' Ex-V.P. Candidate Assails Obama at Convention, Fuels Acolytes' Passion
By STEVEN PORTNOY - NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 7, 2010

former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said the Tea Party movement is the "future of politics in America," and it's got Democrats "running scared."

Delivering the keynote address at the first-ever National Tea Party Convention, Palin brought the audience to its feet several times, taunting the Obama administration, mocking its supporters and warning Democrats that their agenda is "out of touch, out of date, and if Scott Brown is any indication, it's running out of time."

Referring to the Republican who won the late Ted Kennedy's Senate seat in the Bay State, Palin told activists, "If there's hope in Massachusetts, there's hope everywhere."
----
"I caution against allowing this movement to be defined by any one leader or politician," Palin said, calling the conservative populist Tea Party "bigger than any king or queen."

"And it's a lot bigger than any charismatic guy with a teleprompter," Palin said, delivering her first of many swipes at President Obama and his administration.

Taunting those who voted for the Democratic ticket in 2008, Palin asked to laughs, "How is that 'hope-y, change-y stuff workin' out for ya'?" While criticizing the administration for its record of transparency on stimulus spending, and accusing Democrats of committing "generational theft" amid a sharp rise in deficit spending, Palin saved her strongest rhetorical fire for the president's handling of terrorism.

"We can't spin our way out of this threat," Palin said, referring to Obama's reticence to call the effort against al Qaeda a "war on terror."

"To win that war," Palin said, "we need a commander in chief, not a professor of law standing at the lecturn." The line brought her another standing ovation, and some of the biggest applause of the night.
----
The Tea Party movement, Palin argued, is "about the people. Who can argue with a movement that is about the people and for the people?"
----
Palin took questions submitted in advance to the Web site of Tea Party Nation, the group that organized the event at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center.
----
Palin urged a return to fiscal restraint, an expansion of domestic oil exploration, and for leaders to not be "afraid to kind of go back to some of our roots as a God-fearing nation."

"It would be wise of us to start seeking some divine intervention again in this country, so that we can be safe and secure and prosperous again," Palin said.
----
Addressing the notion that the Tea Party should become the nation's third major political party, Palin instead said, "The Republican Party would be really smart to absorb as much of the Tea Party as possible."
----
Palin urged fellow conservative politicians to "plow right on through" attacks by the "irrelevant, lamestream media."

"The political potshots that they want to take at you for standing up and saying what you believe in and proclaiming the patriotic love that you have for country -- a lot of those in the 'lamestream' media, they don't want to hear that."

But, Palin said, "At the end of the day, it really doesn't matter what they have to say about you, because I really believe that there are more of us than they want us to believe."

Jay Carroll Jenks, a gentleman who resided on North La Brea Avenue in Hollywood, California and lived through the last great expansion of Progressive Government in the FDR era and suffered through "The New Deal" as an independent letter-set printer (and my Grandfather) left notes describing his frustration copeing with a control, over personal freedom approach tucked in an envelope titled on the front "PET PEEVES ... thru 1938"

Here is a sample of what was written in his own hand:

PET PEEVES against the NEW DEAL from start to and through 1938

F.D.R. and Mrs. F.D.R.
-- Too much GAB

Roosevelt Family
-- Too much GRAB

CAPITALISTS
-- Although blamed for Retrenching - who wouldn't with unsound Democratic Principles being involked every week, and no encouragement to plan for the future

EXCESSIVE TAXES -- in Higher Brackets - discouraging to Big Business, with no incentive to make Sky the Limit

REORGANIZATION THREAT -- Another retarder of Big Business

RELIEF -- Too easy to start with - then too much Politics mixed in

RADIO and SCREEN -- overflowing with Propaganda and Soft Soap

Nat. LABOR BOARD -- Too Much POWER - Too Much C.I.O. [Congress of Industrial Organizations] - Too Much MEDDLING / All Reaching for Regimentation
POWER -- Too Much given to all Federal Bureaus and Agencies - Usurping States Rights
TARRIFFFF -- Too Hard to keep out (too low) Forign Goods which are produced much cheaper than possible in U.S.A.

AGRICULTURAL CONTROL -- Killing Hogs. Restricting Production, etc. Killing the "Land of Plenty" and creating a "Land of Scarcity"

CONGRESS -- Rubber Stampers. Thinking more of Vote Baiting than of the Needs and Welfare of their constituents

PURGE -- what a Mess of Tripe. What the Beginning of the End of all of the above (I HOPE)
OBSERVATION -- HITLER obtained a "SEEMING" Victory. I don't believe it! The English are noted for their DIPLOMACY and the eventual result (in Time) will prove that the "Chess Play" of Chamberlain, et al, was "premeditated" to the Nth degree

--END OF LETTER--

We all know what happened after 1938 ... the World became involved in a bloody world war, the second of the century, and the progressive policies that preceeded WWII were eclipised with the purge of McCarthyism and a free enterprise flood of pent up demand and creativity.

The Tea Party Movement is a response to many of the same type of reflections our country is going through right now ... as if it were 1938. The more things change ... they remain the same.

Let us all get back to the Constitution and the pursuit of happiness.

Tea Party Leader Takes to the Airwaves
Rising Tea Party star and former radio host Tony Katz signs a radio deal with Tan Talk Radio Network to broadcast “The Tony Katz Radio Spectacular” in two states.

January 21, 2010 Former Florida radio host and current Tea Party organizer Tony Katz has licensed with All Patriots Media, and the Tan Talk Radio Network, to broadcast his show, The Tony Katz Radio Spectacular, starting February 1, 2010. ---- The one-hour daily show positions the concepts of freedom, liberty and capitalism in proper context. “I’m thrilled to be back on the air, and it’s incredibly sweet to be returning to Tampa Bay, a town that has done so much for me over the years,” said Tony Katz. “Being on 880am in Little Rock is going to be wonderful. It’s the heart-of-America places where you get the most honest conversations. And I look forward to being a part of those conversations everyday.”

We, at MAXINE, were able to catch up with Tony at Porto's in Burbank to get some additional insight from him as he looks forward to becoming another voice for American values freedom in a new media world.

Since he is looking to launch a media platform that will be able to add to the discussion in an entertaining way ... through humor, he sees All Patriot Media Network as a perfect vehicle to capture the ignited passions represented by the now, ten-month old Tea Party movement.

Tony views the business proposition side of APMN as a capitalistic "passion play" and envisions the arguments to invest in this fledgling new media enterprise, characterized through these two, logic-based scenarios.

First, wouldn't one, who had a passion for American culture nearly 20 years ago, like to have had a chance to invest in Rush Limbaugh's Excellence In Broadcasting (EIB) Network if the opportunity existed? If yes, would they invest in a similar opportunity now?

Second, one could invest in All Patriots Media Network to participate at a chance at helping to save a nation and culture (while pursuing a profit) .... or pass, sit on the sidelines and end up giving virtually all of their money to a big Government that continues to pursue its appetite for reducing personal freedoms while gaining more control over all things.

Pretty scary thoughts, but as Tony told us, he has had an active imagination most of his life, especially when it comes to nightmares. No one ever would have imagined some 30 years ago that our country would ever be confronted with these kind of threats from within our community. Simply stated, threats that are based on an elected Government dedicated to the pursuit of Statism ... and, yes, that is a nightmare.

Give All Patriots Media Network a listen at its live launch of the “The Tony Katz Radio Spectacular”, Monday morning, and maybe one just might give this internet based, new media enterprise a chance at an investing support to pursue APMN's vision of a multi-media platform for original audio and video content that perpetuates the values of Freedom, Liberty, Capitalism and the uniqueness of America.

At the very least, be entertained and find a new resource that would get one caught up on American culture news and events ... before Barack Obama's control agenda of "Net Neutrality" ruins this freedom too.

So. Cal. Kaiser breaks SEIU stranglehold

Kaiser Permanente employees kick out SEIU and its radical political agenda in a vote today to join a union that will just focus on employer/employee relations. Healthcare workers throughout Southern California have voted overwhelmingly to quit the giant Service Employees International Union and affiliating with the rival National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW), a breakaway faction that is challenging the SEIU’s dominance and approach.

This excerpted and edited from the LA Now -

Kaiser Permanente workers vote to split from giant Service Employees International Union

By Patrick J. McDonnell, LA Now - January 26, 2010 | 5:25 pm

The defeat is a major setback for SEIU, the largest hospital and healthcare workers union in California, with some 150,000 members. The SEIU is engaged in a fierce battle for workers’ allegiance with the emergent NUHW, headed by former SEIU leaders ousted a year ago in a bitter takeover.

The breakaway NUHW has accused the SEIU of shutting workers out of negotiations and cutting deals with management -- allegations the larger union denies.

The SEIU calls its insurgent rival irresponsible and ill-equipped to represent workers. The row has split union and Democratic Party activists statewide.
----
A total of 746 nurses voted to join NUHW, according to the labor board, while 36 cast ballots to remain with SEIU. Healthcare professionals voted 189 to 29 to join NUHW, while psychiatric and social service workers favored NUHW 717 to 92, according to the labor board.

“This is the beginning of a shift in the labor movement nationwide toward more democratic, member-driven representation, not leadership from the top down,” said David Mallon, a psychiatric social worker with Kaiser in Norwalk who favored NUHW.

NUHW is now setting its sights on some 50,000 other Kaiser workers across California currently represented by SEIU. The upstart union is pushing petitions among workers throughout the state to supplant the colossal SEIU, which claims 2.2 million members in North America, almost half in the healthcare sector.

This may strike most as a vote against an autocratic, one-party rule solutions much like we have seen happen in our political culture over these last two to three months. Entrenched Governors were replaced in Virginia and New Jersey ... and just last week, Massachusetts voters booted out the decades long one-party representation by Edward Kennedy (deceased) and the Democrat Party with the stunning election of Scott Brown to the US Senate.

Pro-citizen and self-representation takeover actions are happening all over ... with major votes that are disturbing the assumed set-up of the politically radical leadership that has an effect in all walks of life!

The fight to re-establish American freedom can take on many flavors and colors.

Media Watch: Barack Obama and the amazing "Ellie Light"

Media Watch: Barack Obama and the amazing "Ellie Light"

Question:

What does the term "fainting spells" paired with Barack Obama trigger in your mind when they are mentioned together?

Well, we are beginning to witness another chapter of "put-up" jobs out of Barack Obama and the people who surround him.

Just as we have seen no more fainting spells since they were pointed out as defying the odds of a realistic occurrence ... even down to Barack Obama's scripted reaction to the discovery that someone in the audience gathered to hear him campaign - "Is there a doctor in the audience?"

Ellie Light, a single identifiable letter writing respondent to opinion pages in newspapers and supporter of the current administration of this 44th Presidency, seems to be too prolific to be a real single person - it defies the odds.

The core of Ellie Light's letter, defending President Obama, reads, in part:

"During his campaign, Obama clearly said that an economy that took eight years to break couldn't be fixed in a year, that Afghanistan was a graveyard of empires and would not be an easy venture for us. Candidate Obama didn't feed us happy talk, which is why we elected him. He never said America could solve our health care, economic and security problems without raising the deficit. Instead, he talked of hard choices, of government taking painful and contentious first steps towards fixing problems that can't be left for another day."

This Ellie Light seems to have multiple addresses across the country - in each case Ellie Light claimed to be a local resident. According to Michelle Malkin's Hot Air, virtually the same letter from the same person has appeared in at least sixty-two (62) newspapers, some as large and well known as USA Today and the Washington Times while others were small and local with names like the Los Banos Enterprise and the Danbury News-Times.

The facts and commonality were discovered when the Cleveland Plain Dealer, also a recipient of the letter, had a reporter investigate Ellie Light's "bona fides" and found little to make them feel comfortable. The Plain Dealer reporter has also published an email exchange with Ellie Light that has to be read to be believed.

The best suspicion so far has led to a twitter account run by a public relations outfit and additionally, the letters may have originated out of Long Beach.

Here is speculation excerpted and edited from Left Coast Rebel -

The Light Shown on the Ellie Light Mystery: Ellie Light Origin, is Ellie Light a Journalist named Samantha Power?
by the Left Coast Rebel - 1.23.2010

Like a detective on a trail, I'm all over this Ellie Light thing (still), the next tidbit I will point you to is the actual meaning of the name and the potential allusion to the Obama campaign symbol and a few other theories like the Cass Sunstein/Samantha Power possibility. As everyone knows by now, the 'transparency' of the Obama administration is an illusion, I think that this story is another (potential) determining factor of just that as well. I also read a report that Ellie Light has been featured in over 60 newspapers as of now. Readers have opined that 'Ellie Light' probably votes in each city/district that the papers are located in as well.

As anyone that can do a quick Google will find, the name 'Ellie' comes from Greek name Helen lending it the meaning of "light". So obviously we can then see that the name is most likely a pseudonym for something of meaning, something particular - light. Bungalow Bill has this insight:

El, a term used often in Chicago since they call their system of trains running to Chicago's loop and throughout the city on multiple lines also means horizon--like horizon in Obama's campaign symbol. We have two connections here to common themes with Obama.

Bungalow Bill also mentions that one must not forget Obama's campaign symbol featuring an 'O' with a setting sun, etc, obviously the term 'light' and 'Ellie Light' come to my mind when thinking of the symbol:

Moving along, reader Cambridge Lady checks in with an angle that I hadn't even considered - that Ellie is also short for Eleanor Roosevelt, she writes that it is maybe a reference to FDR's New Deal.....bringing light to America?

Proving how fascinating and hot this story is as well, I just got another note from a reader known as Piperbaye, he actually thinks that Ellie Light is a journalist, a certain Samantha Power. He notes as well that there is a Cass Sunstein connection to this Samantha Power and that Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals may be in play (the name Lucifer which Rules for Radicals was dedicated to means 'bearer of light'. Here's what he wrote to LCR:

I believe Ellie Light is a journalist by the name of Samantha Power. The meaning of the name ellie is light. An Ellie is also a national magazine award which Ms. Power won in 2005 for a piece in New Yorker magazine, entitled Dying in Darfur.

She worked for Senator Barack Obama and then on his presidential campaign before she was forced to resign for referring to Hillary Clinton as a monster.

While there, she met then later married Cass Sunstein who works in the Obama administration as Administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs .

While at Harvard Law School, Sunstein co-wrote a truly pernicious paper proposing that the U.S. Government employ teams of covert agents and pseudo-"independent" advocates to "cognitively infiltrate" online groups and websites.

In addition to this , the latin word, Lucifer, means bearer of light. Saul Alinsky, in Rules for Radicals, dedication is to Lucifer.
Reference Here>>

Needless to say, this intrigue has got some people buzzing - watch the letters under the name Ellie Light ... stop! - to paraphrase Barack Obama while directing the fainting scenes staged at one of his fainting spells events ... Is there a postman in the house?

Question:

Does anyone believe that this same letter (roughly), "penned" by the same author could accidentally make it into SIXTY-TWO (62) different papers without a coordinating effect somewhere?

Barack Obama's second year begins - More 153 & 411 moments

"Obama has cut the remembering-what-we-don't-like-about-Democrats stage of this process down from two to four years to about 10 months. Folks, I'm convinced that if we all work really hard, we can get it down to three months." - Ann Coulter, from "That Old Obama Magic Is Back" 1-20-2010 - Image Credit: Organizing For America

Barack Obama's second year begins - More 153 & 411 moments

This morning, Don Imus mentioned that Barack Obama has given about 153 interviews and issued or delivered 411 comments and speeches on health care reform since he has taken office.

Don mentioned this information in reaction to what Barack Obama said in an interview he granted to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos right after Scott Brown was elected to assume the Senate seat previously occupied by the recently deceased Edward M. (Ted) Kennedy from Massachusetts.

This excerpted and edited from The Daily Caller -

Obama’s failure to communicate on health care

By Jon Ward - The Daily Caller 01/20/10 at 9:14 pm

President Obama on Wednesday said the reason his health-care reform is on life support because Congress took too long to debating it and he didn’t talk enough to citizens about its benefits for them.
----
“One of the things that I have learned in Washington is you have to repeat yourself a lot because because unfortunately it doesn’t penetrate,” he said.

The president, making his first public comments after a Republican candidate on Tuesday won the special election to fill Sen. Ted Kennedy’s Massachusetts Senate seat, said he understands that some Americans view his administration as a bunch of “technocrats up here … making decisions.”

But he said the main reason for this was not his policies but rather his communications strategy.

“What I haven’t always been successful at doing is breaking through the noise and speaking directly to the American people in a way that during the campaign you could do,” he said.
----
He also admitted he has failed to “change the tone here in Washington.”

Reference Here>>

With the context of this being the first day of the second year of this 44th Presidency, why don't we just recognize what we can see is the obvious delusional mind of Barack Obama ... it isn't that He has failed to change the tone in Washington, just the TONE DEAFNESS.

Also, He fails to hear the American people when they speak through Tea Party gatherings, Town Hall questions, and now votes in Virginia, New Jersey, and Massachusetts ... even though he believes that the American people have NOT been listening and hearing what he has said over the 153 interviews and 411 comments and speeches.

We American people have heard what has been said ... when will the Obama Administration resolve to begin to listen to the American people, in this, the first day of year two, of the destructive path of this 44th Presidency?

High turnout may actually be the undoing of the Barack Obama agenda in Massachusetts

Obama carried Massachusetts by 26 points in November 2008. (His approval among registered voters there also appeared to be about +24 as of November 2009). So, if Democrats suffered from the same turnout gap in Massachusetts that they had in Virginia (which was billed as catastrophic at the time), Obama would be at a +17 or so. Instead, you have several pollsters showing him at a +1 or a +5 -- which would imply a turnout gap of 20 or 25 points, more than twice as bad as the one Democrats suffered from in VA. High turnout may actually be the undoing of the Barack Obama agenda in Massachusetts

With the nation focused on the events of the special election held to formally replace Senator Edward Kennedy (deceased) in the United States Senate, it is hard to imagine, sitting out here on the West Coast, what dynamics are at play that would have a Republican candidate win this election.

As it turns out, in a state that has one-million more registered Democrats than Republicans ... the citizens in Massachusetts apperar to want a change that runs deeper than the Hope and Change that our current President, Barack Obama, campainged on just a little over one year ago.

Three pollsters -- Suffolk, MRG and PPP -- all place Obama's approval between a net +1 and a net +5, and each have the raw approve number under 50 percent. These polling results are basically identical to how Obama is polling nationally at the moment ... and this is Massachusetts.

What this will translate to ... is that Scott Brown will be voted into office based upon an overall approval of Barack Obama of under 50% and a strong voter turnout will only magnify this effect. Further, add this to the fact that people see that they have a chance to change their own liberal political dynamic for the first time in decades.

The Boston Globe calls election for Marth Coakley ... EIGHT HOURS before the polls in Massachusetts actually close. Mmmmmm! they must be clairvoyant. Now, if the final numbers end up matching these on this screen shot chart, the Republicans may really have reason to question the integrity of the process... ... and what does Barack Obama say about the prospect of a Scott Brown victory over Martha Coakley?

This excerpted and edited from the Washington Examiner -

Obama: Coakley victorious if Brown gets less than 60 percent
By: Scott Ott - Examiner Columnist - January 19, 2010

As voters in Massachusetts go to the polls today to decide who will complete the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy's unexpired term, President Obama declared that "anything less than a 20-point win by Scott Brown represents a resounding endorsement of my entire domestic and foreign policy agenda."

"If Brown ends up with less than 60 percent, there's gonna be a lot of sullen Republicans, moping around, hanging their heads," said the president to a crowd of supporters that greeted him upon his return from stumping for Democrat Martha Coakley. "Such a thin margin against such a historically weak opponent would be tantamount to a crushing loss for Scott, and would signal a clear rejection of the GOP platform in general."

A spokesman for the Coakley campaign agreed that "the only real question now is, how embarrassing will Scott Brown's win be?"

TeaPAC 2010 - Pasadena Patriots begin the year

Last night, a tea party organization that spawned from last year's reaction to the incredible spending legislation, marked by the Stimulus and Omnibus bills passed by the Democrat Political Party led Congress, held its 2010 kick off organization meeting to take back the 29th Congressional district. More importantly, the meeting was the first of many to help people of all political strips who wish to maintain their freedoms in the face of an unparalleled expansion of centralized governmental power.

Much has been made about the Tea Party movement ever since it showed itself as a real and growing, grass roots political phenomenon starting first on tax day, April 15, 2009, when nearly two million people gathered in front of city halls and federal buildings around the country. Even though little was reported about the impromptu gatherings in the Main Stream Media (MSM), the New Media web portals like Examiner, NowPublic, Pajamas Media, and a host of nationally recognized blog sites posted expose's on the events around the country.

Last summer, the tea party movement began to pick up steam, literally, when people from political points of view and affiliation ranging from conservative, to moderate, to independent, to Democrat, to Libertarian, to Republican wanted to have a voice in the workings of our Government when, at Town Hall meetings with their direct representatives ... began to ask questions. They found out that they did not like what they were hearing and/or how their point of view was being represented by their elected official. Many elected officials did not hold summer break town hall meetings because they did not want to hear what the people, who they were elected to represent, had to say about their governance.

Last night, the Pasadena Patriots placed their standard into the ground seeking to reclaim the right to ... as the Constitution states - "To form a more perfect union".

Constitutionality IS what this is all about. To maintain the ability to be treated as equal in a country of equals in terms of opportunity.

Yesterday, a prime example of how far the leadership of our country is working against the Constitution in the governance of our country happened when the Obama Administration saw fit to EXEMPT labor unions from the proposed 40% tax to be levied on Health Care Insurance plans that cover a broader range of health care procedures than the level of care that this Government is planning to set as the standard of ALL care offered in this country ... in the name of Health Care Reform.

Many believe that this exemption exceptional, along with the Government's intention to levy fines and jail time for all citizens who do not purchase the authorized Health Care Insurance plans that become available for sale once the health care reform legislation becomes law.

Corruption in the processes of Government is at the root of this TeaPAC movement ... it is time to STOP THE SLIDE!

In the 29th District, candidate John P. Colbert has committed himself to stop the slide of government corruption and he described, to those gathered at the TeaPAC Pasadena Patriots kickoff meeting, what aspects of his background experience has prepared him for this moment in time to help take America back. A CEO of a successful computer security and forensics software company combined with 13 years as an investigator in the LA County Sheriff's Department has John keenly aware of recognizing threats and how to dispose of them. If elected, John Colbert is committed to joining and/or forming a committee to address and prosecute corruption in Congress and government processes. He believes that this is the beginning of a war to take our country back to a limited and Constitutional central governance.

On the back of John P. Colbert For Congress 2010 business card is the following quote:

"...America must win this war. I will work, I will save, I will sacrifice, I will endure, I will fight cheerfully and do my utmost, as if the issue of the whole struggle depended on me alone" - Quote found in the diary recovered from the body of a World War One American solider, Martin Treptow.

This quote was first used by Ronald Reagan in a speech that helped to communicate to the citizens of the United States on his level of commitment to a Constitutional government.

Take the materials found at the TeaPAC website and organize community "Tea Parties" with people you know who wish to maintain their freedoms laid out in the Constitution and help to support candidates who pledge to stop the corruption that has taken hold of our governmental processes.

The case to retain Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid

Democrat Political Party Leadership - President Barack Obama is flanked by (L-R) Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA), Sen. Chris Dodd (D-CT), Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT), Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), Sen. The case to retain Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid

Over the last couple of days, quotes in the forthcoming book "Game Change" about President Obama's ethnicity attributed to Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid revealed that Harry Reid is as racist as the political party he represents. The Democrat Party is the most tolerant of people who hold power over, and make judgments on people from a racial perspective.

Reid praised Obama's electability as a "light-skinned" African American "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one" insults all human beings and debases all voters in the United States as making voting judgments on the basis of human race first as opposed to political philosophy.

To the voter who is not from African decent, Reid comment asserts that they are softer on disapproval if someone spoke English in a clear diction and their skin color was not deep into the brown spectrum. To the voter who happened to be born from an African race decent, Harry Reid is stating that education and accomplishment are not as important as one's appearance and speaking ability.

Now if Harry Reid were just some person who sold soap to car wash operations around Nevada, he might be able to make a living and get by with attitudes of closure to humans he meets along the way ... but this is a man who is a lawmaker and has become the leader of all lawmakers in the most powerful Government lawmaking body in the United States, and these attitudes are not consistent with what is expected in a position of leadership and power over all human beings regardless of race.

We, at MAXINE, say keep Harry Reid. Why set the example of intolerance to racist attitudes that the Republican Political Party set? ... when then incoming Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott made a comment in jest at a party honoring a former segregationist and Senate colleague, Strom Thurmond.

Thurmond ran as the presidential nominee of the breakaway Dixiecrat Party in the 1948 presidential race against Democrat Harry Truman and Republican Thomas Dewey. He carried Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and his home state of South Carolina, of which he was governor at the time.

During the campaign, he said, "All the laws of Washington and all the bayonets of the Army cannot force the Negro into our homes, our schools, our churches."

Thurmond's party ran under a platform that declared in part, "We stand for the segregation of the races and the racial integrity of each race."

The comment that then incoming Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott made suggested the United States would have avoided "all these [race] problems" if then-segregationist Strom Thurmond had been elected president in 1948.

Trent Lott was removed in short order after he issued an apology on Monday, December 9, 2002, stating "A poor choice of words conveyed to some the impression that I embraced the discarded policies of the past," Lott said. "Nothing could be further from the truth, and I apologize to anyone who was offended by my statement."

The Republican Political Party knew all human beings were offended, regardless of race, leadership, and power considerations.

Democrats ... please retain Harry Reid as Senate Majority Leader of the United States Senate. It will give all voters an example of support for institutionalized racists attitudes and show them exactly what the attitudes about race of the Democrat Political Party are ... and what level of institutionalized racism they are willing to tolerate.

Obama Administration diverts CIA resources to AGW Scientists

Obama Administration diverts CIA resources to AGW Scientists

Acting CIA Director, Leon Panetta, has directed the CIA to share data collection assets, time, and classified information with about 60 select scientists. The National Reconnaissance Office, which operates the nation’s fleet of spy satellites, is providing much of the data.

Former Vice President Al Gore is credited with helping restart the collaboration by urging Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, to convince the CIA and others it was time to bring Medea (Measurements of Earth Data for Environmental Analysis - a Clinton Administration program that operated from 1992 to 2001) back to life.

This excerpted and edited from The National Center for Public Policy Research -

Experts with The National Center for Public Policy Research are decrying this practice as a distraction from important counter-terrorism duties. They further question if it a possible avenue to renew climate change subterfuge already plaguing some of these scientists.

"This is another example of President Obama not taking terrorism seriously," said Deneen Borelli, a fellow with the National Center's Project 21 black leadership network. "Our enemies must be laughing at the Obama Administration's incompetence."
----
"Given the very real threat posed by terrorists, it is ridiculous and downright dangerous to divert any intelligence resources to monitoring polar ice," added Project 21's Deneen Borelli. "Its said this won't hinder regular intelligence-gathering, but it's also clear that agencies can't yet share data and track a terrorism suspect who was identified by his own father. It's unwise to further distract our intelligence network by forcing it to consult with scientists about icebergs, polar bears and sea lions. The Obama Administration appears to be putting a left-wing political agenda before the safety and security of our nation."

Speaking on the involvement of Al Gore, Tom Borelli, Ph.D., director of the National Center's Free Enterprise Project, noted: "If anything, Al Gore is the real national security threat. Gore's climate change fear mongering, which lines his own pockets with cash has stoked a war against the fossil fuels so vital to our nation's economic prosperity and national security. His self-serving agenda is stymieing domestic energy exploration and production efforts. Now, he successfully lobbied to resurrect this diversion of our intelligence assets after the Bush Administration wisely ended it."

The claims of some scientists are already suspect after the Climategate scandal. Tom Borelli pointed out: "We've already seen climate scientists discussing the idea of destroying raw data to preserve climate change models that may be seriously flawed, and then it turns out that very same sort of data was allegedly 'lost.' How can we trust them to not behave similarly with CIA data - such as denying the proper peer review under the guise that the data is secret? The real question is: who's going to be watching the scientists?"
Reference Here>>

Additional Question:

Will the Obama Administration vet these scientists as it relates to their involvement with "Climategate" tactics ... or will they just be vetted as other Czars and advisors to the Obama Administration have been in the last 11 months (Van Jones, Mark Lloyd, Timothy Geithner, Harold Koh, John HoldrenCass Sunstein and others)?

Problem:

Scientific Method is the search for Truth ... Climate Change data collection is the gathering of information in search for data that supports an AGW Ideology!

This process of diverting classified CIA assets and time takes away from their real job ... to gather information about real threats and assaults on the sovereignty of the United States.
